Study & Research Hub

Welcome, Student of the Sky

A quiet study room for the language of astrology — the signs, the houses, and the moving sky above you, right now.

How to use this hub

Signs — the twelve zodiac archetypes: their element, modality, ruling planet, and core themes.

Houses — the twelve life arenas a chart is divided into, from identity to legacy.

Sky & Ephemeris — a live, calculated ephemeris. Pick any date and time and see where the Sun, Moon, and planets actually sit in the zodiac, whether they're retrograde, current aspects, and the elemental balance of the moment.

Birth Chart Tool — enter a birth date, time, and location to calculate the Ascendant, Midheaven, and an Equal House chart placing each planet in its house.

A note on method

Planetary positions are calculated with real astronomical algorithms (VSOP/ELP-derived ephemeris routines), not a static lookup table — so any date, past or future, returns a genuine tropical zodiac position.

The Birth Chart Tool uses the Equal House system measured from the Ascendant. This is one of several valid house systems (others include Placidus and Whole Sign); house cusps may fall a few degrees differently under those methods, though the Ascendant, Midheaven, and planetary positions themselves are exact.

This hub is for study and research, offered in a spirit of curiosity rather than prediction.

The Twelve Signs

Each sign blends an element (its energy) with a modality (how that energy moves).

Fire — inspired, active Earth — practical, grounded Air — mental, relational Water — emotional, intuitive

The Twelve Houses

The houses map the zodiac's themes onto the arenas of a single life, anchored to the moment and place of birth.

Angular — houses 1,4,7,10: initiative, action Succedent — houses 2,5,8,11: stability, resources Cadent — houses 3,6,9,12: adaptation, learning

The Sky, Calculated

Choose any date and time to calculate real planetary positions in the tropical zodiac.

Time is entered in UTC (Universal Time) for consistency. "Use Current Moment" fills this in automatically from your device clock.

Birth Chart Snapshot

Calculate the Ascendant, Midheaven, and an Equal House placement for any birth date, time, and location.

Latitude is positive North / negative South. Longitude is positive East / negative West. Enter the UTC offset that applied at that date and place (remember daylight saving time).
