Libra & Venus: The Scales and the Mirror

Libra Essentials

The Stereotype and the Correction

The stereotype: indecisive, people-pleasing, avoids conflict.

The correction: Libra is a cardinal sign. Cardinal signs start things. Libra starts relationships, agreements, and negotiations. It looks indecisive because it weighs both sides before it moves, and it won't call something fair until it is.

Libra at its best is the mediator, the designer, the judge, the diplomat, the person who makes the room work.

The Axis: Me and We

Every sign has a partner across the wheel. Aries says "I want." Libra asks "What's fair for both of us?"

Too much Aries and you run over people. Too much Libra and you disappear into them. The work is learning to do both.

Venus, Two Ways

Same planet, different room. In Libra season we're working with Venus the partner, not Venus the collector.

Why Saturn Loves Libra

Saturn is exalted in Libra: it works at its best here. Saturn brings rules, commitment, and time. Libra brings fairness and partnership. Together: contracts, vows, justice, and relationships that last because both people keep their word.

And the Sun is in its fall in Libra. Identity gets worked out through other people. Libra season is when we learn who we are by how we relate.

What Venus Retrograde Asks

Traditional advice says to wait on big new commitments and big cosmetic changes. Treat that as "slow down and look twice," not a rule.

Across the Wheel: Saturn & Neptune in Aries

• Sep 26Full Moon at 3° Aries, right on top of Neptune: a foggy, emotional, dreamy full moon about independence
• Oct 4The Sun in Libra opposes Saturn in Aries: a reality check between "me" and "we"

With Saturn and Neptune both in Aries for years to come, every Libra season now asks: how do I stay myself inside a relationship, without building walls or dissolving?

New Moon in Libra

Saturday, October 10 · 9 AM Pacific · 17° Libra

The one New Moon of the season and the best day to set intentions about relationships, agreements, and balance. It's in a friendly sextile to Jupiter in Leo: generosity and warmth help.

Find 17° Libra in your chart. That house is where the fresh start lands for you.

Libra in Your Chart

Everyone has Libra somewhere. Find the house with Libra on it:

That's the part of your life where you seek balance, make deals, and want things to be beautiful and fair.

Then find your Venus. Its sign shows how you love, and its house shows where you look for harmony.

The follow-along below walks you through both.

A Question to Sit With

Where in my life am I keeping the peace instead of making it fair, and what would a fair agreement look like?

Write about it this season, then come back to your answer when Venus turns direct on November 14.
