Who's Knocking?
Transit aspects as everyday archetypes

Tonight we stop asking what an aspect means and start asking what it looks like: in your inbox, your kitchen, your commute, your relationships.

Class 1The Language of the Planets. What aspects are, and how they're measured.
Class 2Aspects & Transits. Today's sky starts talking to your chart.
Class 3All the World's a Stage. Planets as actors, houses as the set.
TonightWho's Knocking? Transits as visitors who show up in real life.
Open: Welcome everyone. Quick show of hands: who has had a week where everything seemed to happen at once? That's what tonight is about. Last class the planets were actors on a stage. Tonight we leave the theater and go home. A transit is something that visits your everyday life.
Tonight's lens

Visitors and residents

Your birth chart is a house full of residents: the archetypes who live in you full time. The moving sky sends visitors. A transit aspect is the moment a visitor knocks.

Residents · natal planetsThey never leave. Your natal Venus is how you love whether or not anything is happening this month.
Visitors · transiting planetsThey come and go. The slower they move, the longer they stay and the more they rearrange the furniture.
The question for every transit: Who is visiting, which resident did they come to see, and what kind of visit is it?
Say: In Class 3, signs were costumes and houses were the stage set. Keep that. Now add time. The visitor is a planet moving through the sky today. The resident is the planet in your birth chart it's making an aspect to. Ask the room: who's had a relative stay for a week? Long visits change the house. Same with slow planets.
The everyday formula

One sentence reads any transit

Visitor
transiting planet
+ Kind of visit
the aspect
+ Resident
natal planet
+ Room
natal house
= The scene in real life
Example Transiting Saturn square natal Venus in the 2nd house The Elder puts up a detour sign in front of the Lover in the room where you keep your money and self-worth.
On a Tuesday: the budget conversation you've been avoiding, a subscription you finally cancel, or realizing you've been underpricing your work.
Teach: Write the four slots on the board. Students will use this exact sentence in the follow-along. Stress that the scene is a range of possibilities, not a prediction. We're training people to recognize patterns, not to fortune-tell.
Meet the visitors

♆ NeptuneThe Dreamer2+ yearsinspiration, fog, compassion, escape
♇ PlutoThe Alchemist2–3 yearspower, endings, deep change

*Rough time within a few degrees of exact. A retrograde stretches the visit into three passes.

Point out: fast visitors (Moon to Mars) set the weather of a day or week. Slow visitors (Jupiter to Pluto) set the season of a life chapter. When someone says "this year has been a lot," look at the slow ones first.
The six kinds of visit

Every aspect is a different kind of knock

☌ 0° ConjunctionMoves inThe visitor merges with the resident. New chapter.
⚹ 60° SextileSends an invitationAn opening that only works if you say yes.
□ 90° SquarePuts up a detour signFriction that forces you to act.
△ 120° TrineHolds the door openEase and flow, and easy to waste.
☍ 180° OppositionSits across the tableIt shows up through other people.
⚻ 150° QuincunxHands you shoes that don't fitSmall, constant adjustments.
Say: These are the same aspects from Class 1, now with a job description. Next six slides take each one into ordinary life. Invite the room to shout out a real-life example before you click to the slide.
Kind of visit · Conjunction · 0°

The visitor moves in

Two archetypes share one room. You can't tell where yours ends and the visitor's begins. Something starts.

On an ordinary Tuesday

  • A new role, routine, or relationship that becomes part of who you are
  • Feeling "more" of something than usual, and not quite knowing why
  • Other people noticing the change before you do
Archetype example Saturn conjunct your Sun The Elder moves in with the Hero. You get handed the keys: the promotion with more paperwork, the year you finally take your health seriously, the sense of being tested and taken seriously at the same time.
Ask: What is becoming part of me?
Contrast: Jupiter conjunct the Sun is the Benefactor moving in. Confidence, generosity, sometimes overcommitting. Same aspect, different visitor, different week.
Kind of visit · Sextile · 60°

The visitor sends an invitation

Friendly and quiet. Easy to miss. A sextile is an opportunity with an RSVP. Nothing happens unless you answer.

On an ordinary Tuesday

  • A friend forwards a link "thought of you"
  • The class, referral, or coffee meeting that turns into something
  • A good idea you have to write down or lose
Archetype example Jupiter sextile your Mercury The Benefactor sends the Messenger an invitation. Good week to pitch, apply, sign up, publish, or ask the question.
Ask: What door is quietly open, and will I walk through it?
Story prompt: "Who here almost didn't come to their first astrology class?" That's often a sextile. The invitation was easy to ignore.
Kind of visit · Square · 90°

The visitor puts up a detour sign

The road you were on is blocked. The friction is real, and it's also the engine. Squares are where things get built.

On an ordinary Tuesday

  • The deadline, the repair, the conversation you can't put off
  • Irritation that's really energy looking for a job
  • Doing it the hard way, and being stronger for it
Archetype example Mars square your Moon The Warrior blocks the Mother's doorway. Short fuse at home, a clash with family, or a burst of energy to finally deep-clean the kitchen. Same visit, your choice of outlet.
Ask: What is this pressure asking me to do?
Reframe: a square isn't bad, it's demanding. Give the energy a task (exercise, a project, a boundary) and the square becomes your best worker. Ignore it and it finds its own outlet.
Kind of visit · Trine · 120°

The visitor holds the door open

A tailwind. Things just work. Because it's comfortable, a trine can pass by without you using it.

On an ordinary Tuesday

  • Creative flow, easy conversations, green lights
  • Help arriving without asking
  • A great week to practice, rest, or make art
Archetype example Neptune trine your Venus The Dreamer holds the door for the Lover. Music hits harder, romance feels cinematic, compassion is easy. Watch for spending on beautiful things, or missing emails while you daydream.
Ask: What's flowing, and how will I use it on purpose?
Tip: trines reward action just as much as squares do. They just don't force you. Pair a trine with a goal.
Kind of visit · Opposition · 180°

The visitor sits across the table

A mirror. Oppositions usually arrive through other people: partners, bosses, clients, critics. The task is balance, not winning.

On an ordinary Tuesday

  • Someone says the thing you needed to hear (and didn't want to)
  • Tug-of-war between two needs: work vs. home, me vs. we
  • A peak moment, when something reaches its fullest point
Archetype example Saturn opposite your Sun The Elder sits across from the Hero. A boss, partner, or landlord asks you to prove it, commit, or step up. It feels like a test from outside. It's also a mirror of your own standards.
Ask: Who is reflecting this back to me?
Bridge to tonight's sky: the Sun is opposite Saturn in the sky right now, so everyone is getting a small dose of this today. People with planets around 8–14° of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn will feel it most personally.
Kind of visit · Quincunx · 150°

The visitor hands you shoes that don't fit

These two archetypes don't speak the same language. No big crisis, just a constant itch to adjust, often around health, schedule, and habits.

On an ordinary Tuesday

  • Tweaking a routine over and over because it's slightly off
  • Body signals: sleep, digestion, tension
  • Feeling out of step without knowing why
Archetype example Uranus quincunx your Moon The Awakener hands the Mother mismatched shoes. Home routines keep getting interrupted: a new schedule, a pet, a move, a new way of eating. The fix is flexibility, not control.
Ask: What small adjustment would make this fit?
Note: quincunx is a minor aspect, so use a tight orb (2–3°). It shows up a lot in health and work-routine stories, so it's worth knowing.
Timing the visit

Knock, open door, walking away

ApplyingThe knockBuilding up. You feel it coming: tension, anticipation, early signs.
ExactThe door opensThe event, conversation, or decision point. Often the headline.
SeparatingWalking awayIntegration. Making sense of what happened.
RetrogradeThe visitor comes backSlow planets often hit three times: introduction, review, resolution.
Example: Saturn crossing a point direct, then retrograde, then direct again spreads one lesson over most of a year. The first pass names the issue, the second pass revisits it, the third pass settles it. Students often recognize this pattern from their own lives.
Tonight's real sky · October 3, 2026

Who's knocking on everyone's door right now

☉ ☍ ♄ · 0.6° orbSun 10° Libra opposite Saturn 11° Aries ℞The Hero sits across from the Elder. Libra season wants fairness; Saturn in Aries wants you to own your part. Accountability arrives through other people.
♂ ☍ ♇ · 0.3° orb, ☿ □ bothMars 3° Leo opposite Pluto 3° Aquarius, Mercury 4° Scorpio squaring bothA T-square. The Messenger is stuck between the Warrior and the Alchemist: intense texts, power struggles in conversation, research rabbit holes.
♂ △ ♆ · 0.6° orbMars trine Neptune 2° Aries ℞The Dreamer holds the door for the Warrior: inspired action, art, acting from compassion. This is the release valve for the T-square.
♀ ℞ · stationVenus turned retrograde at 8°29' ScorpioThe Lover turns around and walks back through the house. Old flames, old money questions, and revaluing what matters, until she turns direct Nov 13 at 22° Libra.
Positions: calculated for 4:00 PM Pacific, Oct 3, 2026 (Swiss Ephemeris). Venus stationed retrograde overnight Oct 2–3. Everyday read of the T-square: "Say the true thing once, calmly, and then let it land." Mercury is the outlet, so words are where the pressure releases. Check: have students look for natal planets at 1–7° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius. Those people are hosting this visit personally.
Live sky check

The sky at this exact moment

Calculated live in your browser. Planets first, then the tightest aspects between them, written in archetype language.

Calculating…

Use: pick the tightest aspect on the right and ask the room to put it in the everyday formula. If the live calculation can't load (school wifi, blockers), use the previous slide. It has tonight's verified positions.
Worked example · one transit, start to finish

Transiting Pluto opposite natal Mars in the 1st house

1 · VisitorPluto, the Alchemist. Slow, so this is a two-to-three-year season, not a bad week.
2 · Kind of visitOpposition: across the table. It shows up through other people.
3 · ResidentMars, the Warrior. Your drive, anger, and how you go after what you want.
4 · RoomThe 1st house, the front door. Body, appearance, how you show up.
Sentence: The Alchemist sits across the table from my Warrior, right at my front door. On a Tuesday: intense people test your boundaries, a power struggle teaches you where your strength really is, or your fitness and energy change completely.
Real sky tie-in: Pluto has been sitting at about 3° Aquarius all fall, so anyone with Mars near 3° Leo is living this one now. Emphasize that the outcome often looks like empowerment, not defeat.
Game · spot it in the wild

Which visitor? Which kind of visit?

Read the scene, let the room guess, then click to reveal one transit that fits.

Teach: more than one transit can fit each scene. That's the point. Reward good reasoning (right archetype, right kind of visit) over the "correct" answer.
Follow-along · your turn

Find one visitor in your own chart

  1. Open The Aspects Center, enter your birth details, and choose the Transit tab.
  2. Pick the tightest aspect from a slow visitor (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto).
  3. Scroll down to the Follow-Along Worksheet under this slideshow and build your sentence.
  4. Write one real-life example from the last month that matches it.
Share in the chat: "My [visitor] is [kind of visit] my [resident]. On a Tuesday it looks like…"
Timing: give 8–10 minutes. No birth time? The planets still work. Just skip the house (room) slot. Take 3–4 volunteers and coach their sentences out loud.
Visitors on the calendar

Watch for these in everyday life

WhenTransit in the skyThe everyday visit
Oct 3 – Nov 13Venus retrograde, 8° Scorpio back to 22° LibraThe Lover reviews: exes resurface, revisit spending, revalue relationships
around Oct 10Venus square Mars (exact)The Warrior's detour sign for the Lover: chemistry and friction, desire vs. patience
around Oct 17Mars trine SaturnThe Elder holds the door for the Warrior: steady effort pays off, great for hard projects
late Oct into NovJupiter conjunct the South Node in Leo (applying)The Benefactor moves into old habits: generous with the past, then letting it go
Homework: keep a "visitor log" for two weeks. Each day, write one sentence about what happened and one guess at which transit it matches. Bring it to the next class.
Take it home

Every transit is a visit, not a verdict

Remember
  • Visitor + kind of visit + resident + room = the scene
  • Slow visitors shape seasons; fast ones shape days
  • Hard visits build; easy visits need intention
  • Oppositions often arrive wearing someone else's face
